Spring décor tips to re-energise your home
It’s the first day of spring tomorrow, so be inspired to breathe new life into your home with our top tips for springtime interiors
Spring into new colourways
Say hello to the ‘new neutrals’ of 2021. This year we are taking a step away from the cooler grey shades that have proved so popular recently. If you are decorating for spring, these warm, calming neutral shades are perfect for creating a tranquil environment. They also provide the ideal backdrop for a punchy highlight colour on skirting boards or doors.
Shades of green are also proving popular this year. Green is the colour of renewal: it’s also soothing and calming, so just right for that work-from-home space you created during lockdown.

Get cosy with Cottagecore
Styles such as Cottagecore, which connect us to the outdoors and nature, are set to become even more popular in 2021. This Insta-worthy trend is all about relaxation and comfort, focusing on natural shapes, patterns and objects. We’re talking deep upholstery, nature-inspired wallpaper designs, dark green walls and artworks featuring birds, animals and leaves.
Bring the outdoors inside with beautiful accessories
In line with the Cottagecore aesthetic, this year we’ll be seeking out accessories that reflect the natural world. Wickerwork and macrame, baskets woven from plant fibres, lush potted plants and dried flowers will all be used to welcome nature into our homes.
Scatter cushions will continue to provide a focal point of interest in our living rooms and bedrooms. Look out for fabrics with rich textures (velvet or faux sheepskin) and combine patterns for an eclectic, Boho effect.
Create a spring display for outdoor spaces
The spring is the perfect time to transform your house décor. However it’s easy to forget that outdoor spaces may also need some TLC. Apply patio cleaner to any concrete or paving areas and scrub down and re-stain any wooden outdoor furniture. You can make the most of minimal outdoor space by creating colourful displays in pots and containers. Concrete planters are incredibly popular this year, and a dramatic living wall will make the most of a small garden area.
If these spring home décor ideas aren’t enough to re-energise your living space, a home move may be due. At Hudsons Property we have a unique understanding of what central London residents need from their homes. Why not contact our sales or lettings team today?
